Yesterday New Zealand won our first medal with Mahe Drysdale winning bronze in the Mens Single Sculls. Through all his illness he still made it to the final and gave it everything.

Ok, now the cycling. Hayden Roulston won silver in the 4000m individual pursuit at the Laoshan Velodrome in Beijing. He was racing for the gold but sadly didn't make it.

Just to top the day off, Valerie Vili won gold in the Woman's Shotput final. She threw 20.56 metres beating the Belarusians.

*Cough Cough* GO VALARIE! She is so good! Did you see when she walked around, with all these miniscle shotput people in front of her. She wasted everyone!
